Preparing for a kitchen or bathroom renovation

Simple arrangements that make the work easier to organise.

Confirm the choices

Keep the latest drawings, product list and agreed quote together. Confirm sizes, finishes, appliance details and who is supplying what. A clear list reduces last-minute uncertainty when fitting begins.

Plan around everyday life

Discuss when the room will be unavailable and what temporary arrangements you will need. For a kitchen, think about cooking, food storage and washing up. For a bathroom, explain if it is the only one in the house.

Make room for deliveries

Agree a delivery point and a dry, secure storage area. Check the route into the property for larger items. Coordinate supplier delivery dates with the work rather than assuming everything should arrive on the first day.

Agree access and protection

Discuss parking, working access, keys if needed and the parts of the house used by the team. Move personal belongings from the work area and agree how adjacent spaces will be protected.

Keep decisions together

Choose a main contact for questions and keep changes in writing. If a product or layout changes, discuss the effect on cost and timing before it is ordered or fitted. This keeps everyone working to the same plan.
